Sleep Studies with LT Men’s Clinic

Understanding how your health is affected 24 hours a day is crucial – and LT Men’s Clinic is here to help. Our clinicians are trained to offer home sleep studies and treatments that will provide you with feasible options to combat sleep apnea and other sleep-related disorders.

Self-Assessment

Before doing any kind of at-home sleep test, it is important to understand the scope of the potential issue so that we may accurately assign treatment options that work with your unique case.

Do you snore?

Are you persistently tired throughout the day?

To your knowledge, has anyone seen you stop breathing in your sleep?

Do you have high blood pressure?

Do you have difficulty falling or staying asleep?

If you answered ‘yes’ to one or more of these questions, it might be time to schedule an appointment to see if you are a candidate for a home sleep study.

What is Sleep Apnea?

Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder that is identified when you have disruptions in breathing during sleep. These disruptions can lead to other negative long-term effects that can be hazardous if left untreated.

Treatment Options

CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure)

If you are familiar with sleep apnea treatment options, you may have already heard of a CPAP machine. These machines encourage easier breathing during your sleep by steadily increasing the air pressure in your nose and throat. These machines use a mask and hose to provide a continuous flow of air, preventing apnea and snoring.

Oral Appliance

An alternative treatment for sleep apnea may include the use of an oral appliance. These devices, similar in style to a mouth guard, connect to the teeth in order to prevent the tongue from blocking the airway. If your clinician determines this is the appropriate option for you, they will work with your dentist to develop an oral appliance that fits comfortably in the mouth.
